Trans Century Group Set To Lose Its Bid For Africa Online The Board of African Lakes in London (parent company of Africa Online) has today (15.02.2007) recommended to shareholders that a sale to Telkom of South Africa (at UK25) represents better value than the offer of UK18.50 by Africa Telecoms Company Limited. ATC is part owned by Wananchi Online of Kenya, which in turn is controlled by the Trans Century Group, a politically connected Kenyan investment group, that has engaged in several high profile acquisitions, since 2003, including East African Cables and the Kenya Power & Lighting Company.
